The lease was to allow Fernicola to temporarily store used 55-gallon drums on the property, located approximately 1,000 ft from an intermittent stream draining into the Toms River. In 1992, for the town's 225th anniversary, Thomas Luker was officially recognized as the "Tom" in question by the township government and local historians.
